Our CAPA program helps students develop their passion and skills in the areas of dance, drama, music and or visual arts.
NBSC Cromer Campus is looking for students who are committed to developing their passion and skills in the areas of dance, drama, music and or visual arts.
Commitment to participate in a school CAPA ensemble is essential. Students should have performance experience and have performed at a high standard.

Eligibility
You are eligible to apply if you are currently in Year 6 2026.
How to apply - dance, drama, music
1) View the Audition Requirements below
2) Film your video audition BEFORE starting the application form (you will need to upload the video in the form).
3) Complete the online application form and upload your audition files when prompted.
How to apply - visual arts
1) View the Audition Requirements below
2) Prepare your portfolio clearly labeled with the student's name and parent contact information. Portfolios must not be larger than A2 size.
3) Complete the online application form.
4) Submit their portfolio to the Cromer Campus administration office by 3pm Friday 20th March.

Parents will be notified of the outcome by Friday 8 May 2026.

Audition Requirements
Students who play brass, woodwind, percussion or strings instruments. Students should have a level of performance comparable with AMEB Grade 3 or higher. Exceptions may be made for less common or more difficult instruments. Students must be able to read music at a reasonable level.
Students are required to submit a video audition using the following criteria.
● Two contrasting pieces (combined maximum time of 10 minutes)
● Sight reading exercise on instrument of choice or voice
● Two major and two minor scales of your choice, not including C Major or A Minor (brass, woodwind, tuned percussion, strings)
Percussion ONLY
● Single Stroke Roll, Double Stroke Roll, Paradiddle
● The above 3 + Double Paradiddle, Paradiddle-diddle, “Ratamacue”
Students who are vocalists or play instruments such as Guitar, Piano, Keyboard or Percussion.
Exceptions may be made for less common or more difficult instruments. Students must be able to read some form of music notation (eg. Chord charts, TAB, graphic notation)
Students are required to submit a video audition using the following criteria.
● Two contrasting pieces (combined maximum time of 10 minutes)
● One major and One minor scale
● Single Stroke Roll, Double Stroke Roll, Paradiddle (DRUMS ONLY)
For the audition, all applicants must submit in hard copy:
● A portfolio of 5 - 10 of the student’s best artworks in a variety of art making mediums e.g paint, pencils, ink, pastels, photography.
● A short artist statement (max 300 words) outlining the student’s artistic interests, influences, experiences and goals.
