Highlight from last week

Open Boys Basketball

Thu 4 June

The open boys basketball team travelled to Castle Hill last week to compete in the regional qualifying tournament for the opens boys basketball state championships.

Regional tournaments are held all over the state involving both public and private schools who are playing basketball at a high standard.

Cromer Campus was placed in a pool of 4 and played a game against each other school.

Although we were shorthanded due to sickness of one of our key players Lachlan, our boys defeated all 3 teams in our pool convincingly and advanced to the semi finals.

In the semifinal we were defeated narrowly by 3 points but may have done enough to be invited to the state finals. We will find out in the coming week.

Our MVP for the tournament was Micah W. An outstanding contribution came from Ashton B who top scored in one of our games. As we were shorthanded our "bigs" had to step up and play in higher positions, well done to Vincent B, Nathan C and Matthais P.

Our guards were also amazing terrorizing our opponents with constant defensive pressure, well done Jaxon H and Makya L.

A special thanks to one of our junior Cromer basketball players Joshua F who travelled with the team to score for us and to our assistant coach Mr Mak.
